Ayatul Kursi
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of God, the All-Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
2:255
اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ Allah—there is no god except Him—is the Living One,the All-sustainer.
لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ Neither drowsiness befalls Him nor sleep.
لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.
مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ Who is it that may intercede with Him except with His permission?
يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ He knows what is before them and what is behind them,
وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ and they do not comprehend anything of His knowledge except what He wishes.
وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ His seat embraces the heavens and the earth and He is not wearied by their preservation,
وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا and He is the All-exalted,
وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ the All-supreme.
2:256
لَا إِكْرَاهَ فِي الدِّينِ There is no compulsion in religion:
قَدْ تَبَيَّنَ الرُّشْدُ مِنَ الْغَيِّ rectitude has become distinct from error.
فَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِالطَّاغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِنْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَى So one who disavows fake deities and has faith in Allah has held fast to the firmest handle
for which there is no breaking;
وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ and Allah is all-hearing, all-knowing.
2:257
اللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا Allah is the wali of the faithful:
يُخْرِجُهُمْ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ He brings them out of darkness into light.
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَوْلِيَاؤُهُمُ الطَّاغُوتُ يُخْرِجُونَهُمْ مِنَ النُّورِ إِلَى الظُّلُمَاتِ As for the faithless, their awliya are the fake deities, who drive them out of light into darkness.
أُولَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ They shall be the inmates of the Fire,
and they will remain in it [forever].
